Healthy Habits Wellness Clinic our medical provider in Meridian, ID, who can help you get your problems. The pain relief many of our patients feel after completing their course of PRP therapy is profound, and it is real pain relief.
Because PRP takes advantage of your body’s own growth mechanisms to heal, the same ones that you use naturally, your body will heal more completely than with other kinds of drug therapies currently on the market.
PRP therapy uses blood platelets, the protein building blocks that your body uses to heal injuries naturally. By using a sample of your blood, spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelets and plasma from red blood cells, and then reinjecting the plasma and platelets at the injury site, you have a safe, effective form of boosted healing. Each session of PRP therapy can be expected to take one to two hours, and you’ll stay on site in our office during the sessions.
What Are Its Limits?
PRP is an amazing procedure that takes advantage of the newest medical technology to deliver targeted healing right to the places where it’s needed the most, but it’s not magic. With serious structural injuries, you will likely need other support to get your body to properly heal. But PRP is an important adjunct to your body’s healing, and it can shorten your healing time and improve outcomes.
PRP sometimes needs multiple sessions for its maximum effectiveness. We offer up to three sessions in a six-month period. These sessions are spaced at least two to three weeks apart. Most patients see considerable pain relief from the first injection, though, and that session may be the only session they need to get back on their feet and doing the things they love. PRP is not a painkiller. The pain relief derived from PRP is gotten through healing the damage to your body, not through covering up the pain.
